What is a registered dietitian (RD)?

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a licensed healthcare professional specializing in nutrition and how food impacts health. RDs are trained to provide personalized dietary advice and nutrition counseling.

Is there a difference between a registered dietitian and a nutritionist?

Great question! A Registered Dietitian has completed a rigorous education path, including an advanced degree, 1,000 hours of supervised practice, and passing a national exam. They also meet specific continuing education requirements and hold a state license. In contrast, the term "nutritionist" lacks standardized qualifications, so their training and expertise can vary widely.

What are sessions like?

During your sessions, we’ll discuss your food preferences, health goals, and create a personalized action plan that fits your lifestyle. This approach empowers you to make confident food choices.

How often are sessions?

Most clients benefit from weekly sessions initially, focusing on active goal setting. As you progress, you can choose to continue weekly or transition to less frequent appointments based on your individual needs and health goals.

Why should I schedule a telehealth appointment with a registered dietitian?

Our nutrition experts are dedicated to helping you achieve your health goals through personalized dietary guidance. Telehealth appointments offer flexibility and convenience, making it easier for you to prioritize your health. Neat, right?

What is a “body-positive” dietitian?

Negative beliefs around body size and weight don’t belong in our culture and certainly don’t belong in your health appointments. A body-positive dietitian promotes a healthy relationship with food and challenges negative beliefs about body size and weight. Our dietitians understand that health is not solely dependent on size, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment during your appointments.

Is my appointment covered by my health insurance?

This depends on your insurance plan and anticipated service. We are in network with Blue Cross, Cigna, and Medicare. Contact us with questions about your specific coverage. If your plan is not within our network, we can provide you with a Superbill for possible reimbursement.

What is a Superbill?

After paying for your appointment, this form is like a receipt which contains the necessary info that allows you to seek reimbursement from your health insurance company. Many insurance plans will reimburse you for your appointments. However, reimbursement is not guaranteed and is reviewed by your individual insurance company.

I don’t live in one of the states mentioned on your site, can I still book an appointment?

Nope! Nothing personal! Due to licensing laws in each state, we are able to provide services to adults in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We appreciate your understanding.

How much $$ do your services cost?

The initial 60-minute session is $140. Follow-up visits are priced based on duration: $140 for 50 minutes and $85 for 25 minutes, tailored to your individual needs.
